Inshorts Pte. Ltd., the company that runs the popular content aggregator app “Inshorts”, recently completed its first acquisition and brought on-board Retention.ai (formerly BetaGlide). The team of Retention.ai will move from Bangalore and will work from Inshorts Noida office.
Retention.ai is a data analytics startup that helps app developers in analysing user behavior. It primarily works on tracking uninstalled users, which includes finding possible reasons for uninstallation and ultimately decreasing user acquisition cost. The Bangalore-based startup, founded by IIT Kharagpur alumni Amritanshu Anand, Anshul Singhle, Manan Shah and Abhimanyu Dikshit, marked its inception in 2013. Since then, it has worked with more than 12.5 million devices. It had earlier raised Series A funding from Mercury fund, with participation from angel investors like Anshu Sharma (Ex-VP Salesforce, Venture Partner Storm Ventures), Pratyush Prasanna (Ex-VP PayTM) and Punit Soni (Chief Product Officer, Flipkart). The company was also part of TLabs accelerator.
Retention.ai had previously worked with inshorts to provide their developers with app usability data that helped detect performance, functional issues and bugs, even for low-end smartphones.
With the acquisition, Inshorts aims to move a step ahead in retention. As the company plans to roll-out some exciting features, like the recommendation engine, the in-house data analytics team will ensure a smooth, hassle-free and enjoyable experience for the users, and also help in execution of the same so that the app delivers on the promise it makes to the users.
