According to the findings of the Inshorts Youth of the Nation Poll, 68% Indians would prefer to work with a Startup than a large corporation in 2016. The poll was conducted on the Inshorts Android app from 26th Jan to 2nd Feb 2016, wherein more than one lac forty thousand respondents contributed more than ten lac responses to 30 questions that dominated headlines in 2015. All questions had three options – Yes, No and Not Informed Enough.

Out of the 42,958 respondents who voted for the question - In 2016, would you prefer to work with a small startup instead of a large corporation, 29,306 users voted YES, 4760 users voted NO and 8892 users voted NOT INFORMED ENOUGH.

When asked if they are in favor of Facebook’s Free Basics service, 4530 out of the 20297 respondents who voted for the question voted YES, 13,073 voted NO and 2694 voted Nor Informed Enough. It must be noted that the poll was conducted before 8th Feb when TRAI barred telcos from the differential pricing of data which in effect, blocked Facebook’s Free Basics Service in India.

The poll asked respondents if they thought passing the Goods and Services Tax Bill is essential to boost the economy, 28,134 out of the 43316 users who voted for the question, voted Yes, 10,148 voted No and 5034 respondents said Not Informed Enough.

Taking into consideration the heated debate that took place around various versions of the land acquisition bill, the poll asked users if they support the acquisition of agricultural land for industrial purposes. Out of the 43,010 users who voted for the question, 9731 voted YES, 27, 803 voted NO and 5476 said NOT INFORMED ENOUGH.
